Who doesn’t love a bbq sliders?
Why you'll love this recipe
As any farm family knows, slider sandwiches like funeral sandwiches and these pulled pork sliders are a favorite recipe to serve when we’re on the go. They’re the perfect way to feed a crowd without a whole lot of fuss. Pair them with some broccoli salad with cranberries and you have a delicious combo.
Low Maintenance – Yes, easy recipes are key some – ok, most – days! It doesn’t get much easier than the ingredients list here.
Perfect for a crowd – you can make this pulled pork slider recipe for 4 people, or double and triple it to serve a crowd. If you have leftover pulled pork, you can put it to use here or in pulled pork quesadillas! Hello, tailgate!
Time Saving – while I love to make pulled pork in the crockpot, some times we just need to hit the easy button, and that’s exactly what we’re doing here.
Oh, and you get to eat three sliders instead of one sandwich…that’s a win right there!
Ingredients for Pulled Pork Sliders

- Hawaiian rolls or Hawaiian buns – you can also use slider rolls from the bread aisle or deli section. Mini brioche buns are good too; when they’re for sale at Aldi I scoop them up! Basically, your favorite slider buns are the best buns to use!
- Cooked pulled pork – you can use a recipe using pork shoulder or pork butt like this Instant Pot pulled pork or slow cooker pulled pork to make your own shredded pork. Or, do what I did and pick up your favorite packaged variety of ready made bbq pork in the meat section at your grocery store. Grocery shortcuts are in the store for a reason! We can doctor up a few items and make them perfect!
Barbecue sauce – I use whatever we have in the fridge. We are really loving this sugar free barbecue sauce from Ray’s. You can also get fancy and make homemade bbq sauce with brown sugar, apple cider vinegar or molasses but I’m taking the path of least resistance here and going with the premade stuff. - Provolone cheese – oooh, cheese is always the best part! This is a super melty, mild cheese. I’d call it a cousin to mozzarella cheese
- Butter and Garlic powder – for topping
How to Make Pulled Pork Sliders (Step-by-Step)
These pork sandwiches are super easy to assemble.

- Step 1: Toast Your Buns. Cut the rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls intact on both the top and bottom. Place on a sheet pan or in a casserole dish and lightly brown them in the broiler.
Tip: Toasting the buns before topping is key to keep the sandwiches from getting soggy!

- Step 2: Prep the shredded pork: In a large bowl, combine your pulled pork and barbecue sauce.
Use your favorite barbecue sauce or make your own. Options are good!

- Step 3: Assemble the Sliders. Lay the pulled pork mixture on the bottom buns, spreading all the way to the edges.

- Step 4: Top and bake. Top with sliced provolone and put the top half on the sandwiches.
In a small bowl, melt butter and garlic powder, then brush the top of the buns with the melted butter mixture.
Cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the oven!
