You know the buttered noodles served at the restaurant Noodles & Co? You only need a few ingredients to make these at home!
Our kids love these easy buttered noodles and it never fails to baffle me.
There's nothing like going into a restaurant to order a plate of noodles (sometimes topped with chicken) that costs $7, when I could make these recipes at home for about a dollar. Craziness, I tell you!
So instead of giving Noodles & Co. our money, I'm making these at home. We always have these ingredients on hand, anyway!
If you're a grown up like me and want some added protein, try serving these alongside Instant Pot cube steak.
Ingredients in Buttered Noodles
- egg noodles - you can use wide egg noodles or no yolk noodles
- Butter - because how else would we end up with our noodles buttered?
- Italian seasoning - this is the closest seasoning for butter noodles I’ve found
- Shredded Parmesan cheese
- salt and ground black pepper
How to make buttered noodles with parmesan

If you'd like, top with some grilled parmesan chicken, too.
I guess some of life’s simple pleasures are the best!
What to serve with buttered noodles:
Yes, our six year old can eat these as a meal. But let’s talk about the rest of us who want a main dish!
This may just qualify as the world's simplest recipe - just saying...
