Easy Strawberry Desserts
Strawberries practically scream dessert time! If you’ve got ripe berries that need to be used up quickly, these easy strawberry desserts are some of the best ways to let their natural sweetness shine.

- Strawberry Pretzel Salad – a retro-classic layered dessert that is a favorite from my childhood. In the Midwest, we sometimes call desserts "salad" 😉
- Strawberry Crumble – sweet and juicy strawberries meet a golden oatmeal topping for an easy dessert that's best served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
- Mixed Berry Galette – store-bought pie crust and a variety of berries make this rustic-style tart a home run
- Strawberry Crumb Cake – fresh strawberries, a tender cake, and a flavorful crumb topping make this an old-fashioned, farm favorite
- Strawberry Shortcake – another classic way to use juicy strawberries
Quick Ways to Use Fresh Strawberries
If you need something fast with little to no prep, these are some of the easiest ways to use fresh strawberries.

- Strawberry Spinach Salad – this light spring salad features fresh strawberries, salty feta cheese, and a simple homemade balsamic dressing
- Chocolate Covered Strawberries – a simple microwave method makes this an easy dessert for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, or just because
- Greek Yogurt Fruit Dip – perfect for snacking or serving alongside fresh strawberries
- Marshmallow Fluff Fruit Dip - kids (and adults) love this fluffy, flavorful dip!
Make-Ahead & Freezer-Friendly Recipes
If you’ve got a lot of strawberries to use up, these recipes help you make the most of them now—or save them for later.
Save This Recipe For Later

- How to Freeze Strawberries – perfect for smoothies, baking, and jams
- Strawberry Banana Oatmeal Bake – a great make-ahead breakfast with wholesome oats and a classic strawberry-banana combo
If You Make One Thing…
If you’re not sure where to start, I always recommend the strawberry freezer jam. It’s simple, doesn’t require canning, and tastes like peak strawberry season all year long.
Drinks & Fun Extras
Strawberries aren’t just for desserts—they’re perfect for refreshing drinks and simple summer treats.

- Fresh Strawberry Lemonade – this strawberry-infused summertime drink is always one of the first to go at backyard BBQs and summer gatherings
- Mocktails – a fun and refreshing way to use fresh strawberries in non-alcoholic drinks
How to Store Fresh Strawberries
Fresh strawberries don’t last long, especially once they’re fully ripe. To keep them fresh as long as possible:
- Store them unwashed in the refrigerator
- Keep them in a breathable container
- Wash just before using
It drives me bonkers when people recommend you wash berries as soon as you get home from the market and store in the fridge. They'll get moldy and mushy. End of rant.
If they’re already very ripe, freezing is one of the best ways to avoid waste.
What to Do with Extra Strawberries
If you don’t have time to make a recipe right away, freezing is one of the easiest ways to save fresh strawberries for later. They’re perfect for smoothies, baking, and jams—and you’ll be glad you have them on hand.
