Baja Burgers are bursting with flavor! An all beef patty combined with green chiles, spices and then topped off with a slice of cheese, avocado and cilantro.
Summertime in the Midwest means grilling season and that's why you need this burger. Yes, indeed!
What are baja burgers?
This is no ordinary burger. Let me tell you a little bit about this meaty burger creation...
The Baja Burger starts with beef, specifically beef from our garage freezer that is my meal planning salvation. Every year we load it up with local beef and we are set!
To the beef, we're gonna add a few spices - cilantro and chili powder - and some green chiles for just a hint of heat without overpowering the meaty goodness.
Now is a good time to wash your hands (obviously) and roll up your sleeves. You're gonna do some quick mixing of the beef and other ingredients, just enough to distribute evenly throughout.
Then shape the beef into four patties of equal size.
Tip: make the patties slightly larger than you want the finished burgers. They'll shrink in size as they cook on the grill.
Okay, now that our baja burgers are cooked to perfection, we're gonna add a slice of cheddar for the melty cheese factor. It's like a warm melty blanket for the burger.
Some avocado slices go on top for a bit of creaminess and then we top this glorious creation with a bun that's been toasted on the grill.
See those grill marks? I'm a proud grilling girl!
Mmmmm, so much goodness here!
