Move over drive thru, this Copycat Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade Recipe will save you time and money this spring and summer!
Summertime is made for sipping cold drinks on the front porch. And what better way to enjoy a warm day than with a refreshing drink in your hand?
This copycat version of passion tea lemonade uses honey instead of refined sugar, making it a little healthier so you can pour yourself that extra glass.
How to make Starbucks copycat passion tea lemonade recipe
Brew the passion tea and let it steep for several minutes. Discard the tea bags.
Simple syrup is used to sweeten everything from sweet tea to mixed drinks. In this recipe, we're using honey instead of plain sugar. We'll combine water, honey and some cinnamon sticks and heat until the ingredients combine.
To prepare the infused simple syrup, combine a quarter cup water, honey, and cinnamon sticks in a small saucepan and place over medium heat. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until mixture is heated through and starts to thicken, approximately 4-5 minutes.
If you don't have cinnamon sticks, you can substitute a ½ teaspoon of vanilla. Different taste but still delicious!
Discard the cinnamon sticks and set aside to cool.
Combine the brewed tea, lemon juice, and remaining cup of water in a large pitcher. Add infused simple syrup - as much or little as you like - to taste and stir to combine.
Load your glasses up with ice and add the cooled passion tea lemonade. Enjoy!
