Published: Nov 19, 2019 · Modified: Mar 31, 2022 by Deanne Frieders · This post may contain affiliate links · 1 Comment

Use this list of must have Instant Pot accessories for your Christmas wish list or treat yourself! Go on, you deserve it!

You’ve heard all the buzz about Instant Pots ...Do you have one? Then chances are you’re telling anyone who will listen about this mystical kitchen gadget!

People often ask me if an Instant Pot is a must have small appliance.

My quick answer is no, but a better, more complete answer is "you don't necessarily need one, but one you start cooking with a digital pressure cooker, you'll wonder what you did without it!

And to be fair, we don't really need a lot of things. Heck, we don't even need a dishwasher but boy do I sure love mine!

So what's with all the Instant Pot buzz, anyway?

Well, there are a few things. You can cook many foods in less time than traditional cooking methods. Soups, chilis and stews taste like they've simmered all day and keep the tastes all in tact.

And if you'd like to make perfect hard boiled eggs, well - look no further! Eggs cooked in the Instant Pot peel like a dream!

If you need more background on how to get started with your Instant Pot be sure to check out my Instant Pot basics.

I've had an electric pressure cooker since 2012 so I've had plenty of time to explore all the Instant Pot accessories for sale.

These are my favorites, plus a few I'd like to acquire on the next rainy day!

10 Must Have Instant Pot Accessories

    instant pot liner

Instant Pot Stainless Steel Inner Cooking Pot - 6 Quart

If you're planning to cook more than one recipe for a meal, you'll want an extra pot. For example, if you're making Instant Pot Italian Chicken plus wild rice pilaf, two pots would serve you well!

The inner cooking pot is also dishwasher safe.

    IP-Nonstick-liner

Instant Pot Ceramic Non-Stick Interior Coated Inner Cooking Pot

If you'd like an extra inner cooking pot, consider the non-stick variety.

Are the liners hard to clean? Nope, not really. But this liner makes sticky foods, like rice, slide right out.

And again, an extra cooking pot also helps if you’re making multiple dishes for a meal.

    IP Ring

    Silicone Sealing Rings

If you plan to make a variety of foods (and you should), invest the ten bucks to get different silicone bands for your Instant Pot.

You can use red ring for sweet food and blue ring for savory food and white for common use.

Why bother? Well, using different bands will keep your cheesecake from smelling, or even worse - tasting, like chili.

Trust me on this one. Some things, we learn the hard way. (wink, wink)

    IP-Egg Bites

    Silicone Egg Bites Molds

To be perfectly honest, I think I had these silicone molds at one time for freezing homemade baby food.

But then, Starbucks launched their Sous Vide Egg Bites and the whole world of adapted these molds as a multipurpose gadget.

Heck, why not, right? Well now I consider this a must have Instant Pot accessory and I use mine all the time.

My Starbucks inspired egg bites recipe make is easy to make breakfasts all week long AND you’ll save the five bucks from Starbucks. #WINNING!

    IP Glass Lid

    Instant Pot Tempered Glass Lid

One of the upsides of the Instant Pot is that you can use it for multiple cooking methods, including slow cooking and sautéing.

If you’re planning to use it for either of these alternative functions, like I do, this is a handy addition so you can see what you're cooking without lifting the lid.

Farm Girl Tip: Check and see first if you have a slow cooker lid that fits your pot first!

    IP Lid

    Instant Pot Silicone Lid

Plastic wrap has its place, but if you’re planning to store a meal in your pot for later, a silicone lid is a great accessory to have.

It’s airtight, spill proof and watertight, too!

    IP Stackable Egg

    Stackable Egg Steamer Rack Trivet

The stackable egg steamer rack is another awesome Instant Pot accessory for the incredible, edible egg!

Depending on when you purchased your pot, you may already have one of these. One you see how easy it is to peel hard boiled eggs cooked this way, you’ll be making them ALL THE TIME!

    IP Sling

    Bakeware Sling

This oxo Instant Pot accessory is a bakeware sling which keeps your food above the water while cooking.

You’ll use it for things like cheesecake, lasagna, frittatas and the like. The handles make it easy to lift from your pot.

    IP Magnet

    Magnetic Cheat Sheet

No more digging through the cabinet to find your Instant Pot manual, or looking up cooking times. Yes, I speak from experience, lol!

This magnet cheat sheet for your Instant Pot has 90 cooking times for grains, beans, vegetables and a variety of meats.

    Stainless Steel Steamer

If you’re into making big batches of hard boiled eggs, this steamer basket is a great piece to have! As an added benefit, you can use it on your stovetop too - it's not Instant Pot specific.

It’s not flashy but it gets the job done and I like the handle.

I hope these must have Instant Pot accessories help you out! In the meantime, I have an entire library of Instant Pot recipes!
