Makes 4 servings
- 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 pound 85/15 ground turkey
- 2 Tablespoons finely chopped red onion
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce such as Tabasco
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 burger buns optional
In a medium bowl, gently combine all ingredients except the burger buns. When mixed, shape into four patties.
Heat a nonstick pan on medium high heat. Cook for 8-12 minutes, turning once. Cook until meat reaches 165 degrees when measured with a digital meat thermometer. Serve with desired toppings.
Tips:
Use ground turkey with some fat content to keep the burgers juicy! I use an 85/15 blend.
Make the patties slightly larger than desired size and they will shrink somewhat as they cook.
These can also be made on the grill.
If you not using a nonstick pan, use a teaspoon or two of olive oil to keep the burger patties from sticking to the pan.
To make as a freezer meal:
In a medium bowl, gently combine all ingredients except the burger buns. When mixed, shape into four patties. Form into four patties and freeze in a single layer inside a gallon zip bag. Thaw before cooking as outlined above.
