Deanne's Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ½ large onion diced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ green pepper chopped, optional
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 T. chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 14 oz can kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 14 oz can petite diced tomatoes
  • 14 oz can black beans drained and rinsed

Instructions

  • In a large pot, cook ground beef and onion on medium heat until beef is completely cooked. Drain fat and return to pot.
  • Add minced garlic and green pepper, cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occassionally, until garlic is fragrant and green pepper begins to soften.
  • Add remaining ingredients, stirring to combine. Cook for 2-3 hours on low heat
