Easy Jalapeño Poppers (Oven or Air Fryer!)

Ingredients

  • 12 large jalapeño peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese shredded (or pepper jack cheese if you like extra heat)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 12 slices thin bacon

Instructions

  • Prep the peppers: Slice 12 large jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes.
  • Make the filling: In a bowl, mix 8 ounces cream cheese, 4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese , ½ teaspoon garlic powder ¼ teaspoon onion powder, ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt, and pepper.
  • Fill the peppers: Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half.
  • Wrap with bacon: Wrap each pepper with a half slice of 12 slices thin bacon. Secure with a toothpick if needed.

Oven Method

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with foil or parchment.
  • Arrange poppers on the pan. Bake 22–26 minutes, or until bacon is crispy and peppers are tender.

Air Fryer Method

  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F. Place poppers in a single layer.
  • Cook 10–13 minutes, until bacon is crisp and filling is bubbly.

Notes

Thin-cut bacon works best for crisping.
To make ahead, assemble and refrigerate up to 24 hours before cooking.
Freeze unbaked poppers for quick appetizers later.
