These Sour Cream Cookies are light and fluffy and always a crowd pleaser! Add some buttercream frosting and now we're talking!
baking
These sour cream cookies bake up super soft. Similar to the lofthouse cookies you see at the store, but have a little more creaminess + you can't be homemade!
butter, sugar, sour cream, eggs, vanilla extract, all purpose flour, baking soda baking powder, salt
01
Add sour cream, eggs and vanilla. To get this light and fluffy, you’ll want to use a stand mixer or hand mixer.
02
Head to your pantry and grab your flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
03
The dough will be very soft so we will refrigerate it overnight to firm it up. After refrigerating, the cookie batter will resemble a very thick cake batter.
04
Preheat oven to 350°F, then portion cookies using a cookie scoop. Use hands to gently roll into balls.
05
Let sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
Cream butter in a large bowl. Add powdered sugar and mix until all of the sugar is combined. Add in milk, and vanilla extract to reach desired consistency.
Allow cookies to cool completely before frosting. If you're freezing these, hold off on the frosting until they've thawed.
