A kielbasa sandwich is a delicious combination of grilled kielbasa sausage, served up on an Italian style roll and topped with cooked onions, green peppers and cheese.

Ingredients
14ounceskielbasa sausage
1Tablespoonsolive oildivided
3Italian style hoagie rolls
1onionsliced into strips
1green bell pepper
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut rolls in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet, cut side up.
Heat a medium sized skillet over medium low heat. Add 1 Tablespoon oil and the sliced onions. Cook for 5-8 minutes until onions begin to soften and caramelize.
Add the cut green peppers and the entire kielbasa sausage. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, then flip the sausage, stirring the onions and peppers occasionally.
When heated through, remove the pan from heat. Cut the kielbasa into rounds and add to the buns.
Then top with a third of the onion and pepper mixture. Top with a slice of provolone cheese (you may want to tear it in half to cover the entire bun.
Repeat with the remaining two sandwiches.
Cook in the preheated oven until cheese is melted, about 4-5 minutes.
Top with mustard, pickles or sauerkraut if desired.Variation: Cut the sausage into 3 pieces, then cut it lengthwise. (This makes it easier to bite into!). Top with the onions and peppers and then a slice of cheese.To keep warm for transport: Wrap in foil and add to a heated lunchbox or slow cooker heated to warm.
