Weight Loss and More Energy: Week 3

Published: Jun 9, 2020 · Modified: Sep 24, 2022 by Deanne Frieders · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

Hey everyone, it’s my latest update on my quest for more energy and healthier eating! I’ve got to say that since starting the plan in Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion, I’ve noticed some positive changes!

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

What changes have I seen, you ask?

Well, for one, I have more energy. I used to crawl towards the coffee pot at 2 pm for a dose of caffeine to get me through the afternoon.

Joel Marion’s Always Eat After 7PM program makes dieting easy and eliminates 90% of reasons for resistance.

I noticed last week that I no longer do that! In fact, I’ve been drinking water instead and I don’t have the afternoon slump!

With the extra energy I have, I’ve been able to keep up with my new garden. Btw, I am loving it. Who knew radishes could be so fun?

I also studied to pass a food manager certification, which means I can sell at our farmer’s market!

I’ve been crocheting away, and I’ve also been working on a clean eating course for the blog.

Oh, and chasing around kiddos. That seems to take a lot of energy, too!

The Always Eat After 7 PM plan isn’t a magic pill, though.

We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal

What is working for me is the fact that I don’t have to over think what I’m going to eat. I know that I’ll use intermittent fasting until my lunch.

For one, doing so eliminates the possibilities for bad food choices.

It also means that I’m drinking plenty of water and lemon water to hydrate in the meantime.

Another thing I love are the recipes. I am a huge veggie and fruit lover and I’m so glad the recipes in the book let me eat both of those things.

Plus, after the initial two week acceleration period, carbs make a comeback!

I’m a big believer in all things in moderation.

“Fact is, most diets are extremely narrow with regard to food choices and variety, and many even limit entire macronutrients altogether over the course of the entire program (think low-carb and low-fat diets). Three months with no carbs? No thanks. Such practices not only are entirely unnecessary, but make for a miserable, unsustainable experience.” - Joel Marion

Speaking of which, I’ll get a cheat meal on Saturday, which I’m already looking forward to, woo hoo!

One of my favorite recipes is the Cheesy Ground Beef Skillet. It’s something our whole family will eat with ground beef, rice, seasonings, vegetables, kidney beans and of course, cheese! (my favorite!)

In case you missed it, you can read more about my journey in my week 1 post and week 2 posts.

I’ll be back next week to share even more progress. In the meantime, you can learn more about the book and how to purchase here:  Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion
